September 24, 2012

HOUSTON - American National Carbide (ANC), a leader in the manufacture of tungsten carbide products, announces the installation of a new and upgraded ERP software and hardware system at its Tomball, Texas headquarters. The new software, supplied by Global Shop Solutions in The Woodlands, Texas, is a complete enterprise resource planning software system that will support ANC’s entire operation, including production scheduling, inventory, accounting, sales, quality, preventive maintenance, and customer service. “Since the whole company is tied in together, we can see up-to-the-minute information from anywhere in the operation at the click of a mouse,” says D. Greg Stroud, President. “The end result will be improved deliveries and better quality products for our customers, and a major improvement in day-to-day work functioning for our employees.”

All new servers, barcode scanners, and production workcenter hardware are also included in the upgrade in an effort to bolster the infrastructure of the company. “A solid foundation in logistics is essential to efficient manufacturing,” says Debbie Wilkerson, Logistics Manager. “With the new software and hardware upgrades, we have assembled the most robust system we’ve ever had and the benefits were immediate.”
