ANC Supply Chain Not Affected By Coronavirus Outbreak

February 4, 2020

HOUSTON, TX - American National Carbide (ANC) announces that its supply chain will not be impacted by the coronavirus outbreak in China.

In an official statement by its President and CEO, D. Greg Stroud, ANC says that because all of its raw materials are sourced in the United States, its supply chain will not be disrupted or otherwise affected by the travel restrictions and virus-containment measures implemented by many countries, including the U.S.  "We continue to operate without issue, and we don't foresee any supply chain interruptions associated with the coronavirus outbreak," says Stroud.

China is the world's largest producer of tungsten ore and tungsten-containing products, representing approximately 80% of global supply.  ANC sources all of its raw materials domestically.

"We felt it was important to reassure our customers that a steady supply of tungsten carbide products would be available from ANC throughout this crisis and beyond," says Stroud.  "And we hope the best for all those directly affected by this situation."

ANC manufactures all of its products at its Tomball, Texas headquarters, including cutting and wear products for the energy industry, indexable inserts and support products for all types of metalworking applications, along with various wear products and tungsten carbide-cobalt powders.
